“The property was exactly as listed.”

It was in an ideal location for us, right on the loch. Be aware there is no access to the loch from the property. It was in an ideal location for us, right on the loch. Be aware there is no access to the loch from the property. There are a lot of good aspects to the cabin but nothing to add to what is in the description, therefore, I will focus on aspects that might be useful for future guests: It is a very warm building with few options to ventilate, especially when the midges are around. Cooking was simple with the hob and multi-purpose oven. The cabin is comfortable but not particularly relaxing. The 2 single sofa bed chairs are okay but not ideal for lounging on and although the bed is very comfortable, the thought of climbing down the ladder in the middle of the night for the toilet meant I didn't sleep as well as I could have done. I recommend taking binoculars to check-out the wildlife on and over the loch. Overall, a comfortable place to stay with everything you need

Set on a working croft in Locheport, on the Isle of Uist, with an abundance of space and unbeatable views is this eco-friendly, pet-friendly lodge, North Light Studio.

Perfect for a couple, solo traveller, or even friends sharing, this architect-designed, Scandinavian-style lodge is set in a breath-taking area, with a loch to gaze upon, superb facilities including a sauna, and peaceful surroundings.

The glazing has been specifically designed to capture the views.

The Northern Lights display have been seen from the mezzanine level.

On a clear night the dark skies from this vantage point are mesmerising.

Inside, find the open-plan living space, complete with a galley-style kitchen, with an induction hob for your cooking needs and hints of coherence including an orange tap, tying in with the exterior design.

From here, the chairs double up as pull-out beds, allowing you to cosy up in front of the woodburning stove after dinner.

Before bed, make your way to the shower room to rinse off a day of walking, or perhaps indulge in some time in the sauna.

Completing the interior is a mezzanine with a built in platform double bed, inviting you to rest before a day of exploring the isle.

In the morning when you wake, savour a cup of coffee out on the front decking and take in the fresh country air while you plan your day ahead.

During the day, venture to Baleshare Beach, where you and your canine companion can stroll the white sand while admiring truly breath-taking views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Avid anglers may want to explore the isle's freshwater fishing with permits available from North Uist Estate.

Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the island's wealth of walking activities, with the Hebridean Way nearby, as well as water sports such as kitesurfing, paddle boarding, wild swimming, kayaking, and even surfing, which is extremely popular at Hosta Beach.

Those who want to see the unusual species that frequents North Uist can do so at the RSPB Nature Reserve at Balranald, or they can take part in the island tradition of boat journeys into the ocean to identify dolphins, orcas, porpoises, and otters!

For a truly unforgettable trip choose.
