Enjoying gorgeous mountain views and loch scenery, Silver Birch Lodge is a wonderful detached property resting in the hamlet of Ratagan in the Scottish Highlands.

Lying just a stone's throw from the shores of Loch Duich, Silver Birch Lodge is perfect for a family or friends seeking a tranquil retreat, with the benefit of a large garden, off-road parking and close proximity to the loch.

On arrival take in the peaceful surroundings of this Highland cottage, with views of The five Sisters of Kintail, before admiring the property exterior after parking in the ample off-road parking area.

Head through the front door, passing the pretty front decking, and into the entrance porch where you can leave boots following your adventures.

Take the first right into the sitting room to find a contemporary space to unwind, decorated in hues of blue and grey with local art on the walls, find soft seating and a TV in here.

The dining room is off to the left and enjoys plenty of light from the patio doors leading out to the decking, where you can relax with a drink in hand and soak up the scenery.

A beautifully fitted kitchen has all you need for rustling up delicious dishes for the group, with sleek grey units and quality appliances, along with a utility room adjoining it home to the washing machine and tumble dryer.

From here make your way outside to the rear garden to find a lovely spot to enjoy nice weather, with an elevated patio home to a large picnic table.

Back in the house, the ground floor is home to one of the three lovely bedrooms, this one home to a king-size bed and served by the ground-floor family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower.

Take the stairs to come to a delightful reading space at the top of the landing along with two more sleeping spots, consisting of a twin bedroom and a master king-size bedroom, both featuring an en-suite shower room and large mirrored wardrobes to house your belongings.

Those who are seeking outdoor adventures won't be disappointed with the location of this homely property, with the surrounding area scattered with mountains and peaks to explore, whether on foot or bike.

Embark on a challenging hike along the Five Sisters of Kintail with a network of trails leading you up and around the mountains, lochs and glens, bringing you to even more incredible vistas and views to soak up.

The Ratagan Pass and Glenelg present an amazing adventure to enjoy.

The nearest place for dinner and a drink is Kintail Lodge Hotel, home to a restaurant with loch views to enjoy, while the village of Dornie is nine miles away and offers several pubs, a local shop and a café.

Watersports enthusiasts can look forward to the likes of kayaking, canoeing and wild swimming, or simply boat trips, with outdoor activity organisers on hand to guide you.

The picturesque village of Dornie sits amidst the stunning West Highland countryside, just nine miles from the bustling village of Kyle of Lochalsh. The village itself, a walker’s paradise, offers good amenities including a village shop, a local pub and numerous walking and cycling opportunities, with stunning views of the coastline and mountainous regions beyond to be enjoyed. Nearby Kyle of Lochalsh, known as the gateway to the Isle of Skye, offers a range of shops, hotels and restaurants and boasts a busy harbour that plays host to a variety of cargo, fishing and occasional passenger vessels. Nearby Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland's most famous and popular sights, is perched at the end of a stone causeway on the shores of Loch Duich, whilst further south is the Glenelg Peninsula, a tranquil backwater, which is beautiful, remote and relatively undiscovered. An easy drive north of Kyle is the charming village of Plockton, famous for its palm trees, yacht-filled bay and the nearby hamlet of Duirinish with Highland cattle which wander the streets!
