The property

Situated in the village of Killin, Millmore Cabin is a delightful single storey lodge surrounded by picturesque countryside, overlooking the magnificent Falls of Dochart.

Entry to the property is via a porchway, which offers hanging space for coats and storage for shoes and boots.

From here, head into the cosy living room, which offers one sofa and two armchairs to relax in.

There is a woodburning stove that will fill the room with heat on the chillier evenings.

A sliding door opens onto the patio and adjoining decking giving spectacular views of the River Dochart that flows by at the edge of the lawn.

From here you can enjoy sitting on the patio or decking with a glass of wine and spot the local wildlife, including red squirrel, heron, otter, pine marten, woodpecker as well as some of the local ducks.

The wood panelled walls of the dining room and galley kitchen give the space an authentic feel, and the dining table is a great place to gather together to enjoy a home-cooked meal together.

The property is well placed in the centre of the village, with a host of amenities, restaurants, pubs and cafés just a short walk away, as well as notable attractions like the magnificent waterfall of the Falls Of Dochart, Clan McNabb Burial Grounds and the Dochart Viaduct.

Walkers will enjoy hiking Ben Lawyers, the highest of the surrounding Bens, which offers stunning views of the nearby mountains and lochs, while watersport enthusiasts can take part in kayaking, canoeing and fishing on Loch Tay, and cyclists can access National Cycle Route 7 from the opposite bank of the River Dochart.

Millmore Cabin is a fantastic base to return to after a day of exploration and adventure.

About the location

KILLIN

Aberfeldy 22 miles; Pitlochry 36 miles; Perth 44 miles.

The village of Killin, on the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, in the area of Breadalbane, sits across the stunning Falls of Dochart and has been settled since ancient times. Cup markings on rocks and stone circles tell of an ancient race that inhabited this area. Christianity came to Breadalbane in the 8th century with St Fillan with the Mill bearing his name and St Fillan’s Day held on the 3rd Tuesday in January. The village is strongly associated with two renowned clans, Clan Campbell and Clan MacNab. Finlarig Castle, to the north of the village, was the Campbell stronghold and the MacNabs have their ancient burial ground of Inchbuie near the bridge over the falls. Killin today is a popular tourist destination, due in no small part to the use of the falls in various films and television programmes. The village today has a varied selection of shops, bars and restaurants and watersports are available on nearby Loch Tay. Ideal for walking, Killin has Ben Lawers, the highest of the surrounding Bens, to the north and Ben More and Stobinian to the west.
