Horrible owners, take pictures of everything before and after your arrival/departure as the owner will accuse you of random damage.
There was also a horrible dirt track leading straight to the communal garden of the lodge, around 1km in distance which was not communicated and completely messed up the bottom of ours cars (over £1k damage).
Not the best facilities and lodge looks a lot smaller than shown in pictures.
Not enough dustbins for a communal space so plenty of litter smell in surrounding areas.
Not the finest of experiences. Would not recommend!
I’m sorry you felt the need to leave such a bad review. We have never had to charge guests for damage before but unfortunately the state you left our lodge was beyond reasonable. You left the day before check out without locking the door and taking the key with you, meaning our house was unlocked overnight and we had to change the locks as we had new guests arriving.
You left oil stains on the patio which won’t come out and holes in the laminate flooring. Luckily we could repair the damage to the blinds and table, but the other things are not so easy to fix. We don’t mind guests smoking outside, but it took us over an hour to collect all the cigarette butts around the garden including finding them in the hot tub, requiring a full drain down and clean.
We do state on our pre-arrival info that there is a track leading to the farm that is a little bumpy and to take it slowly. The track does not belong to us so we cannot resurface it, but we repair it regularly to make the journey smoother.
