    “The place is lovely.”

Roomy. Some negatives: We asked for the bi-fold doors to be fixed. They said a maintenance man would come but he never did which meant we couldn’t use them which really wasn't very good at all as we’d have like that and it would have added to our holiday. The lights in bedrooms were basically useless - need proper bulbs. Would be better if the fences on patio was fully enclosed for kids and dogs. It was very very hot. Thankfully I’d bought a fan but think one or two should be provided. The ...

The hot water in tap was way too hot and needs considering for children. Otherwise a very nice stay. Lovely deco. Rooms decent size. Facilities to wash and cook were good although took us a while to work out the hob so better instructions would be good. Having a utility room was great. Views from place amazing and being in the corner meant we feel we had privacy and also good grass space for the door. Room for at least 3 cars. Very nice. Would defo stay again as all the things mentioned should be easy to fix.

About the location

BAMBURGH

Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
