“Stayed at Starwood lodge recently.”
As previous comments suggested, this has got the potential to be an awesome retreat. The lodge and grounds are ideal and private ideal for dogs, although our dog escaped through a gap near the old hot tub lid!(if its old and broken it doesn't need to be there)
I could imagine it being lovely in the summer months but as it was colder we stayed inside more, tbf it was the amazing looking tv and sound set up along with the oven and fancy shower that first attracted me. Sadly none of those things ...

I could imagine it being lovely in the summer months but as it was colder we stayed inside more, tbf it was the amazing looking tv and sound set up along with the oven and fancy shower that first attracted me. Sadly none of those things worked properly, the oven worked but needed a good deep clean(the rest of the lodge could also do with a good clean) we found hair bobbles lolly pops in vases, malteasers and popcorn from previous guests this could do with addressing with the cleaning team. Both toilets needed fixing after every flush (it's not an expensive fix) Hot tub was only cleaned once in our 5 night stay and that was the last day when they did a full empty and re-fill leaving it cold after that for our last night. I'm not sure what the guidelines are but I thought the hot tub would be inspected every few days or so. With all that said, these could be looked at as minor issues and easy fixes, I would definitely love to stay at this lodge again But I would like to see some improvements made. I don't normally do reviews but my suggestions would be.
If somethings broke fix it
If something is redundant remove it.
This guest is a respectful person with my sincere thanks for their review, and is more than welcome to stay at Starwood again. The necessary improvements will be made. With this in mind, I would like to address the following points:
1. I always tell guests to call me if there are any problems or queries upon the conclusion of my meet and greet. Unfortunately, the guest did not do that. If I am unaware of something that can make a stay better, I am unable to be of any assistance, especially after doing a meet and greet.
2. I employ a hot tub maintenance company. They are on hand should any problems arise, meaning they will only check if specifically instructed to at the request of the guest.
3. Reading this review, the guest has mentioned the cleaning was not to a standard they expected. After a thorough investigation carried out by myself, I have found out that the cleaning service has not been up to par recently, and they have been relieved of their duties.
4. To say that the TV did not work properly is not correct. I showed the guest how to work the remote control, and seemed satisfied with how easy to use it is. The sound system is ornamental at the moment, and to remove it would be an expensive and time-consuming operation. With regard to the shower, again I must be aware of these details to put them right.
