The sofa was a bit uncomfortable and is not the one pictured on the website. The bed was comfortable but is very low to the floor so difficult to exit if you are tall. The flat is decorated in an attractive manner and looked clean when we arrived. On closer inspection, though, it was clear it needed a proper deep clean. There was extensive black mould in the washing machine, a deep line of grease/food waste in the dishwasher, a used pod in the Tassimo machine (which hadn't been cleaned), thick scale in the kettle, crumbs in the cutlery tray, men's beard hairs in the dresser drawers, a light bulb that was out, and the thermostat needed batteries so wouldn't work. We brought these issues to the attention of the owner and she said she would make sure the flat was in much better condition for the next visitors. This wasn't of any help to us, though, since her cleaner only works Saturdays and so wouldn't arrive until after we left. We reported these issues to Sykes as well but they said all they can do is pass them along to the owner, which we'd already done. We wouldn't return to this property because of all the cleaning we had to do (including buying kettle descaler) just to bring it up to a reasonable standard.
Hi thank you for your feedback but I have to point out that you called me with your issues on the Thursday late afternoon as you were due to leave Friday. I did try to get our cleaner in for you as she works everyday, not just Saturday as you put in your review, but as it was last minute she couldn’t go that evening for you. I do feel that as you brought all the details to our attention the day before you left that maybe some were made in the week you were staying.
