“Meadow View is a proper home from home.”

Spotlessly clean, very comfortable and extremely well equipped. There's a very thoughtful welcome pack with something for everyone provided by the owner. The meadow just over the road is perfect for a morning or evening dog walk. Just a 15 minute walk down to the beautiful 5 mile long beach. 30 minute walk along the beach to Filey with its dog friendly cafes. What more could you possibly want.

“Meadow View is in a great location for exploring the Yorkshire coastline with Filey, Bridlington and Scarborough all within a 10 mile radius.”

There are lots of local walks and eating places where dogs are allowed, so great for your four legged friends. The cottage itself is very clean and well equipped-a real home from home and good for small families, with board games, a Wii console, several TVs and buckets and spades for the beach. There is also the use of leisure facilities on the site, which we didn’t take advantage of, but I am sure others would appreciate, particularly with the great British weather.

A great location to relax, no noise from the neighbours and fully equipped to be a home from home. The location is perfect for visiting different parts of the area from Flamborough Head, Bridlington, Filey, Scarborough, Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay. We enjoyed walking from the site to Filey by both the beach and the coastal path.

A superb location, the open space at the rear of the property was brilliant to socialise with all other residents and their dogs. The lovely touches such as the hamper of treats for our dogs and a bottle of wine which we very much enjoyed. Definitely be back.

“We had a lovely stay, the cottage had lots of added extras incase you forgot items like cleaning things and dog bowls, also boardgames and other home comforts.”

The cottage was well equipped, clean and the owner kept in touch so well in regards to access and directions. We love visiting The Bay with direct access to the beach, the swimming pool and bar/restaurant. All dog friendly and makes you feel right at home and relaxed. Highly recommend!

“Meadow View is a lovely cottage on The Bay village resort.”

The property is kept immaculately clean and tidy, with stylish modern kitchen and bathroom, plus good sized bedrooms and lounge. Being able to open lounge doors of all the properties onto a small patio with table and chairs at the edge of a communal green space gives a friendly feel to the area. I was impressed with the owner's contact with me which was clearly to ensure that guests enjoy their stay and to provide a great holiday. I hope we can return in the future.

Scarborough 7.7 miles; Bridlington 10.5 miles.

Filey is a traditional English seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, offering a restful holiday, making an ideal place to stay for walkers and wildlife watchers at any time of the year. A real gem on the Yorkshire coast. A fishing town on the North East Coast, Filey has enjoyed a reputation of being a resort since Victorian times, set beside the magnificent Filey Bay, a long stretch of beautiful sand, with Filey Brigg and its shallow rockpools to the north. Filey Brigg is a low headland that protects Filey Bay and provides good bird watching and seawatching opportunities all year round. The 400 ft high Bempton Cliffs (RSPB Reserve) to the south of Filey Bay are home to over 250,000 seabirds in the summer. Gannets, kittiwakes, puffins, guillimots and razorbills all nest there. Gannets are regularly seen diving for fish in Filey Bay. The Brigg area is an ideal place to watch for common and rarer waders, seabirds and migrating warblers,finches and thrushes. As well as seabirds, seals and other marine life, such as porpoises dolphins and minke whales can be seen in the sea around the Brigg. The town itself seems almost caught in a time warp, retaining much of its character with individual shops, narrow paths and ginnels. There is a small coble landing, a slipway where local fishermen keep their boats, plus delightful beach chalets that can be hired through the summer months. The bay is edged with two promenades and there are various gardens, where brass bands play on a Sunday afternoon. This small town is family orientated, crazy golf and candy floss. Also in Filey there is the Filey Dams Nature Reserve, a wetland reserve where common and rare waders and wildfowl can be seen as well as autumn gatherings of swallows, sand martins and house martins. Also there is Parish Wood (just off Sycamore Avenue) an unexpected gem that offers a wealth of wildlife. Willow warbler, chiffchaff, blackcap and tree sparrows breed there and a wide variety of other species are regularly seen such as great spotted woodpeckers and sparrow hawks. Parish Wood also provides shelter and food for a wide range of migrant bird species such as goldcrests, pied and spotted flycatchers, warblers, finches, thrushes and woodcocks. A short drive brings you to the busier town of Scarborough where for family fun you can visit the Alpamare Waterpark, a waterpark unlike anything the UK has ever seen before, as well as plenty to explore and discover in this lovely area.
