In response to your review, thank you for your positive comments about the lodge and our park. The cleaning team do leave a welcome pack, including milk sachets. So, we are sorry if it had been missed this time.
Unfortunately, the previous guests had thrown loose food into the large bin outside the lodge. Then a big bag of rubbish had been put on top. The cleaner had lifted out the bag but not looked further into the bin. So, apologise for this.
The owners of the property do live on site and the contact details are in the information pack along with Sykes Cottages’ telephone numbers for any emergency.
Had these issues been reported during your stay, we would have done all we could to ensure that you were happy and comfortable for the duration of your visit.
For the assurance of any future guests, there is a comments book in the lodge which we encourage people to use. 99% of the guests have left their responses, which have been overwhelmingly positive about their holiday.
We were very lucky to have had a visit from Professor David Bellamy when developing the site. His suggestions greatly enhanced the immediate environment which has been appreciated by guests to the park.
If visitors are fortunate, they may see a kingfisher from the decking. A video can be found on our website. Occasionally, otters have been seen in the beck.
