“The property was nice and maintained to a high standard, a bit more attention to cleanliness would be good as there were alot of cobwebs around the ceilings.”

The hot tub wasn't hot the day I arrived (only 21°) which was disappointing considering I was paying over £200 a night. The site isn't overcrowded, but its right behind the fun park which meant alot of noise untill 2300. But its ideal for couples with kids during the holidays at its only a 5 minute walk to the fun park. The site cat was a welcome surprise as well and very friendly.

Hi thank you for you feed back I completely empty clean and re fill the hot tubs ready for the next guests theses get done on check out at 10.30 but unfortunately on same day change overs the hot tubs won’t reach up to temperature before the next guests arrivals I’ll make sure this is written in the welcome message off Sykes going forward xx Property Owner

“No phone number incase something was wrong , phoned 3 different numbers all the wrong place so had to phone the emergency number just to get a bit of information about hot tub , cobwebs on ceiling around both lights and corner of the room a piece of glass on the kitchen floor which I stood on in my bare feet als the ceiling fan we couldn't turn off so on all the time in the living room we did mention it to them also tv in bedroom didn't work , barbecue I would definitely not use and outside cushions had dog or cat hair all over them also cushions for corner seating were mouldy , wifi was very poor it kept going off, I'm not sure why we paid £1300 for 1 wk in August and next year its £1100 for the same date.”

“There were a lot of issues, all cleaning products were empty and washing liquid for clothes was filled with water, no dish washer tablets.”

Outdoor bins were full and only 1 bin bag left. Cobwebs and spiders everywhere. Uneven decking a trip hazard. BBQ was filthy. Shower in bathroom broken. No WiFi and tv in bedroom didn't work. Dead batteries in all remotes. Stained sofas and creased bedding. Not enough towels.

I’m a tad disappointed in your review considering we came to clean the hot tub mid stay for you and none of the above was mentioned, even though I was there for well over an hour I asked if everything was ok and you said everything was great so a tad confused by the review. Property Owner

“A lovely week was spent in Honeysuckle Lodge, a quiet and relaxing location allowing yourselves to wind down.”

The lodge is a great place to stay and is a home from home, comfortable furniture and excellent facilities ie shower/ wet area and a seperate bath with shower. The HotTub is fabulous and you can really sooth away any stress/ aches after a day out. The interior was kept tidy and clean and the decor is top quality, altogether a great place for a getaway.

Lovely quiet site. The lodge itself was lovely. The only downside was when we arrived the bins outside where full and they didn't get emptied all week and the toilet seat in the double bedroom bathroom was wobbly but over all we were very happy

“We were a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the lodge, considering we paid £200 per night we’ve stayed at cheaper places which were much cleaner and cared for.”

We were also unsure that the hot tub was last cleaned or had chemicals added as the water had a stale smell to it, which was a shame as this was the main reason we booked this particular lodge. The size and location of the lodge was good and the instructions for the gated entry were good. With a little more care and attention to details we’d probably book again but as it was when we stayed we wouldn’t book again.

“We loved staying here and would 110% stay again.”

The only issue we had were the bins were full so we had to try and squish the previous rubbish down so ours could fit. Also we did have a small mushroom growing in the bathroom in the suit but overall we would book again and loved our stay! Thank you :)

“The lodge was lovely & clean, it actually exceeded our expectations.”

The hot tub was lovely & warm on arrival (40 degrees). I would suggest booking here May onwards when the weather is decent to fully enjoy your break & make the most of the lodge. Towyn is an absolute dump, very run down with very little to offer. The road leading down the the Paddock has severe pot holes which will cause damage to cars with low profile tyres. To summerise it's a lovely lodge/site it's just in a poor location.

gifts and Christmas tree erected. Slight problem with hot tub which was quickly sorted and the same with the gas bottles running out. My only criticism would be there was a slight unpleasant smell coming from the shower drain and the beds were quite uncomfortable leading to us leaving quite early. If those were sorted then it would be fantastic. Area was lovely and quiet. Great utilities in the kitchen. Lovely owner only phone call away

“We had booked this property for a week as it was my 40th birthday and when we arrived we were disgusted with how dirty and run down the property was!”

The bins inside were all full as were the outside bins the shower drain was absolutely disgusting (full of hair and smelt foul which my partner had to clean before we could use the shower), the hot tub had bits floating in it and was unusable because of it. There was a wasp nest over the smaller bedroom. The curtains had rips in them and the settee was broken and a big gap in the patio doors when shut. After we came back home I read previous reviews and discovered that most of these complaints had been raised by other holidaymakers over a year ago and hadn't been addressed after a year. I tried multiple times to get in touch with the owner without success, after my third report to sykes I finally had a response offering a £70 refund for a complete train wreck of a "holiday". I would advise that people take a moment to consider if this place is for them after our terrible experience with this place, pictures can be requested from me as proof of the experience we had.

Had a wonderful stay at this pleasant home from home, had everything you could want, read the reviews before we went and can’t believe how anyone could fault this place, take no notice of any petty peoples posts because this turned out to be a great holiday, problem was the weather which nobody can alter but had lots of places to visit. Really relaxing and enjoyable stay.

“We had a great stay and would recommend the place however we do have a few suggestions of things that could improve the stay.”

The place was clean on first inspection however throughout the stay we discovered that the place was in need of a deep clean. There was an empty used water bottle under the sofa, biscuit crumbs on the sofa from previous guests. The blinds were very dusty and windows needed a clean. The drawers could do with a vacuum. There was also food left from previous guests. The en-suite to the double bedroom, was a bonus, however there was mould issue in the shower, but feel we can not complain about this as this was a real bonus to have an extra toilet and shower and this was not on the listing for the property. The pillows and duvets could do with a replacing as were flat as a pancake. The double bedroom smelled of stale smoke at times. The hot tub was amazing and very clean. Putting aside the few suggestions of improvements the lodge was nicely decorated and facilities on offer were great. The location was perfect away from the hustle and bustle of Towyn but easily in walking distance. There were lots of dog walking areas close by and the children loved the fair. It’s an ideal spot for visiting the area as so much to do, all a short driving distance away.

“What a jem of a property!”

Lovely and tidy, fresh towels, beautiful spot. Just a short nice walk through the park to town and close to Rhyl, prestatyn and Llandudno. Hot tub was fab! Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend. Thanks for a lovely stay

The lodge was spotless and had everything you would have at home and more! The park is safe, secure and very peaceful! Towyn is on the doorstep and can be reached by walking through a really nice park! We will definitely return!

“First impressions of Honeysuckle Lodge was that it looked lovely inside.”

The kitchen was well equipped with good appliances, utensils, cleaning supplies etc. The fridge was a good size but could have been cleaner. There was lots of crockery but way too much crammed into a small cupboard so it would be very easy to break something. The lounge area was nice and bright and had a dining table and chairs and Freeview tv. There was a large sofa which was broken at the back which we noticed on the Sunday (didn’t know how to report this) and we had to ensure we did not sit near that area for the duration of our stay which was a bit of a pain. Also, the smaller sofa is not for sitting on unless you are a child or very short adult because it is so low down so that also reduced seating room. Thankfully there was a comfy armchair. The ceiling fan in the lounge did not work which was frustrating as the lodge gets extremely hot inside during the hot weather. We had to rely on the pedestal fan that was located in the double bedroom and keep the curtains closed which isn’t ideal on holiday. Cleanliness of the room ok but under furniture not checked as we kept finding objects (plastic balls and a baby’s dummy) as we retrieved our dog’s ball. We booked this particular lodge due to it having a hot tub so we were so disappointed that it was absolutely disgusting with lots of floaters and skin floating about. It looked like it had been very well used and cannot possibly have been cleaned before our stay. Someone did come out to clean it which we didn’t know about. A gentleman just appeared on the Wednesday before 9:00am and cleaned it. He said we had to wait until 6pm to use it as it had to get to a certain temperature which meant we had our first go in it on Wednesday at 7pm. This meant we only had 2.5 days use of the hot tub. The bedrooms were well stocked with extra bed linen and had adequate storage for clothes. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were way too soft but obviously that’s personal preference. Drawers not clean. The double bedroom had a tv that didn’t not work, neither did the bedside lamp. It also had an en-suite bathroom. There is no polite way of saying that the bathroom smelt like nothing we’ve ever experienced. It was absolutely putrid and despite keeping all windows open and spraying tonnes of air spray the smell did not go, it was so difficult to sleep as anytime you needed to use the toilet in the night you would open the bathroom door and the smell would hit you all over again and it would then linger all night. We avoided using the bathroom at all during the day and all used the shower located near the twin bedroom. This issue alone really spoilt our stay. We booked this stay for our son’s 18th birthday but it definitely fell way below our expectations and we feel was not reflective of the price we paid. We expect at least half of our money back and for these issues to be rectified for future paying customers.

Electrical appliances were not Pat tested, TV not working in bedroom, dining table legs loose, dirty mop bucket full of old dirty water, hoover taped up and not pat tested. Kitchen drawer broken. Hot tub cover had mould on it, we left early due to these issues. Overall place needs repairs, and a good clean. Very disappointed as it was our first to time hiring lodge and was only holiday we could afford this year. Site was secure and friendly but we heard the other people have complianed but seems this site do not not react to customer complaints Wouldn't recommend going to that lodge

Thank you for your feed back, we took on board some of your comments the front door was a minor issue it is just a bit stiff at times we have now re oiled the door and all seems to work as it should, I disagree with the glass door been filthy I personally clean the lodge myself as we found that outsourcing to contract cleaners in the past was unreliable, again there was no green mould on the hot tub this is serviced before every stay and the water is drained and fresh chemicals put in, the shower has no issue with the drains and we have had them checked so unsure as to why there would of been any smell, the wifi unfortunately is controlled by the owners of the actual park so nothing we can do about the speed of it hence intermittent problems with the bedroom tv, we agree that it does need upgrading for a better service and are in talks with the park to do something about this, kitchen draw we couldn't find an issue with it, there is no legal requirement to pat test in a lodge or in fact the uk, place is always clean, we agree with some of the points but feel you have over exaggerated and tried to find any minor issue to justify trying to reclaim compensation where we feel it doesn't justify it. “On first glance the property looked all that it promised in the brochure, BUT, as we started to settle in, the problems started to come to light.”

There was no Wifi as promised, so the TV in the bedroom did not work. There was a Wasp problem, they were finding their way into the lodge. As the information stated, if there were any problems then go to the Paddock reception; when we did this, we were told that it was nothing to do with them as the lodge was privately owned. We phoned Sykes on Sunday morning and told them of the above concerns plus a lot more. we had to ring back on Tuesday evening when we had not heard anything. We did get a response on this second phone call to Sykes, who said that someone would be there on the Wednesday to sort out the problems which were: Wasps coming into the lodge No WIFI No working TV in the bedroom No toilet roll/holder No hairdryer No baking/oven trays The dinner service and cutlery were mismatched and not enough to warrant a dishwasher. The balcony door would not lock unless the key remained in the keyhole. There was no clothes airer or other drying facilities. No correct extra bed linen. The manuals for appliances were just thrown in a bottom draw in the kitchen (would have been better place in a folder) We feel that the response time was too long and that the most important things were not dealt with. we got a phone call from Sykes two day before the end of our holiday, asking if things got sorted. this was way, way too late., and no they were not sorted. Sykes told us that they look at the properties at the start on them going on their books, we. feel that Sykes should regularly monitor the properties that are on their books

“This property should of never been for hire as it was dirty wasps infested the issues should of been resolved before anybody arrived.”

We were offered a small refund with the understanding it would be cleaned which it was party. This wasps were address only Thursday by putting a sealant on around the chimney breast which did not resolve the problem we must of killed 60 plus wasps we they were every were we couldn't stand it anymore and left our holiday early. We are upset annoyed and feel cheated.
