The bottle of Prosecco and home made brownies were also nice on our arrival.
With that said, our bathroom smelt of mould and had an absolutely disgusting smell which then spread to the rest of the pod. I told the owner about this on the second day to which she replied it was the septic tank and that it was only at this pod that that happened because they’d missed something when building it. Whilst that might be the case the owner did nothing to rectify this for the duration of our four night stay and instead with each day the smell got worse and unfortunately our holiday ruined. This was to the point that we tried looking up places to stay elsewhere. If this is a known issue then I would have expected the tank be emptied prior to our arrival and something done to rectify this during our stay.
The other issue we experienced was a couple of floor boards inside that were raised enough to continually stub your toe on and a couple of the slabs of the patio that you could physically lift up. This meant anytime you walked on them they’d come up on the other side to hit you in the leg or foot. Again I struggle to see how the owner couldn’t have known about these.
I hate to leave a “bad” review for someone’s business, and have never done so before, but if I had known the above when booking I’d have booked elsewhere or certainly another of the pods. I hope at least my review is constructive enough that this can be rectified going forward.
Firstly thankyou for your feedback on the good and bad points. We apologise for the smell but were unable to get booked in until Friday for the septic tank, I assumed as you hadn't been back in contact with us, or spoken to me about it on my daily hot tub checks, that it had got better during your stay. Of course if you had got back in contact we would have attempted to push to have it done sooner, but we also don't like to disturb people's holidays by having too much activity around site. With regards to the flooring and slabs, although I was aware of the issues (again we've been waiting for contractors to get out to us), I hadn't genuinely realised it was as bad as you have stated. Again, as you hadn't contacted us or mentioned this at all during your stay, we didn't have the opportunity to try and sort this for you. Both of these problems are being sorted this week and have been temporarily fixed for comfort over the weekend as we couldn't get the proper people out to them. As above the smell problem is now also sorted. I have also contacted you via email with an apology and other notes if you could please check those and we can try and sort something out for you. We are very sorry, as we do pride ourselves of making people's stays as lovely as possible and we are easily contactable should people have any issues. Again many thanks and apologies.
