The property

Tucked away just seven miles east of Carlisle and a stone's throw away from the village of Wetheral, this delightful shepherd's hut boasts a wonderful position for exploring the whole of Cumbria.

With open country views and a charming woodland setting, High Rigg Shepherd's Hut is well-suited to couples looking for a romantic break away together.

Pop open a bottle of fizz left for you on arrival and enjoy a real treat with your loved one, either out on the decking or while eating a home-cooked shepherd's pie at the dining table.

You have a lovely seating area at the foot of the king-size double bed and a well-appointed kitchen for rustling up romantic dinners.

Open the French doors on a sunny day and let the outside in while you delve into a good book or simply take in the views.

There is also a shower room to complete the interior in a stylish and modern fashion.

Separating you from the rippling lake and the decking area to the front, is a balcony enclosing a wonderful outdoor space, so you can recline on a lovely summer's day and sip a cooling beverage.

Climb into the hot tub and make the most of being out in the open countryside in all weathers, with the advantage of having a roof over the deck to shelter you from the wind.

Tucked behind the decking is a small grassy area with a handy storage cupboard for stowing away any additional belongings.

About the location

BRAMPTON, CUMBRIA

Carlisle 10 miles.

The market town of Brampton is the ideal base for exploring Hadrian’s Wall. The town boasts a rich and colourful history going back to the Roman occupation, Border reivers from Scotland and the Jacobite uprisings, plus bonnie Prince Charlie established his headquarters in one of the old buildings in Brampton. In the centre of the town is Moot Hall, which was built in 1817, and now houses the Tourist Information Centre, and there is a large motte to the east of the town, which is 135 feet high and has the statue of the 7th Earl of Carlisle on it. A few miles outside Brampton is Talkin Tarn Country Park. It covers 120 acres of farmland and woodland, 65 of which make up the Tarn, a 10,000 year old glacial lake, fed by underwater springs. Two miles away is Gelt Woods, which is an ancient woodland and RSPB nature reserve and has the River Gelt running through it. Brampton is a wonderful base for exploring this historic and scenic area.
