“Lovely little lodge in rural setting.”

Quite remote but next to farmhouse and another lodge. Scenery beautiful. The owner popped over to check everything was in order. Would recommend.

North And South Lodges

Kendal 6 miles. These two lovely detached lodges are set on the owners’ working sheep farm, in a rural location, within the valley of Longsleddale, the location of the Postman Pat books, six miles from the town of Kendal within the beautiful Lake District National Park. Ideal for a couple or small family, these delightful holiday homes offer a great base for exploring the area on foot, by bike or in the car. With stunning country and hill views, both of these lodges are set on the ground floor, with both having two bedrooms – a double with walk-in wardrobe and a twin, together with an open plan living area. Outside at both properties is parking, with North Lodge offering a decked area with furniture and South Lodge has a decked area, patio and a raised lawned garden. As these lodges are in the Lake District National Park, there’s an abundance of walks all around, as well as a number of cycle routes in the area. Just six miles away is the market town of Kendal offering stone ruins of a 12th century castle, art gallery, shops and pubs. The National Trust owned Sizergh Castle is close by, as is Levens Hall. Also within reach is the village of Staveley from where you can explore the wonderful Kentmere Valley, and the village itself has shops, a café and a brewery. Also in the area are Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside and whilst staying at one of these lovely holiday homes a trip on the Lakeland Steamer on Lake Windermere is a must. Two charming lodges with plenty of Lake District attractions and places to visit within easy reach.

About the location

KENDAL

Windermere 8 miles.

A historic market town with a fine reputation for shopping, Kendal nestles on the banks of the River Kent and is known as the Southern Gateway to the Lakes. Its old cobbled lanes and byways branch off the attractive main street, and the stone ruins of 12th century Kendal Castle sit perched on a hill with views over the town. Visit The Abbot Hall Art Gallery, its regular collection holding portraits by Kendal born George Romney and works by Turner and Ruskin, with other exhibitions through its links with the Tate. Both Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall with its superb Topiary Garden are nearby, as are limestone escarpments for easy walking, offering thrilling views of the Lakeland Mountains, the Howgills and Morecambe Bay. Kendal itself is ideally placed for exploring South Lakeland, the Yorkshire Dales and beyond. With other attractions such as Kendal Museum and the Museum of Lakeland Life, the fascinating Quaker Tapestry, Lake Windermere and the wider National Park within easy reach, Kendal provides a superb base for a relaxing break.
