The property

Squirrels Leap is a charming, single-storey log cabin hosting the ideal spot in the great outdoors, with Keswick town centre just moments away and all the Lake District has to offer surrounding you.

This lovely, self-catering lodge is fully equipped for you and your loved one to enjoy all the delights of the area in peace and comfort, with wonderful views of the Lakeland Fells and the foothills of Skiddaw and Latrigg mountains within easy reach.

The property is within easy reach of plenty of quaint towns and bustling cities due to its convenient location near the A66 road.

When you arrive, you can unwind in the open-plan living room with a drink and admire the green space before you, the large patio doors open out onto an enclosed patio area.

Choose to put on the electric fire for some extra warmth during those winter months and get together for a hot meal at the dining table.

You can prepare all your meals if you wish from the well-appointed kitchen, which comes with a slimline dishwasher and a washing machine for your convenience.

At the end of each evening, retire to the bedroom, providing you with fitted wardrobes and a dressing table as well as an adjoining bathroom, which can also be accessed off from the kitchen.

Enjoy a luxurious hot bath before bed or a refreshing shower, whichever you may prefer.

Those long summer evenings will welcome chilled drinks out on the patio where you can listen to the sounds of nature and truly escape from the world a little.

Each day you are here can be filled with walking and hiking should you desire, with many routes leading right from the doorstep.

You can saunter into Keswick and find many things to do, including visiting the local shops and pubs, some excellent parks and even the Pencil Museum.

Derwentwater is worth a visit to admire the scenery and walks there, as well as Ullswater and Aira Force Waterfall, offering the perfect setting for nature observing.

If you like skiing, the Lake District is perfect for a winter visit and in summer you might want to head over to Whitehaven for its 17th century harbour or visit St. Bees Head to view England’s only cliff-nesting seabird colony.

On a clear day you can even see out as far at the Isle of Man from here.

Choose a restful break in the Lake District with Squirrels Leap as a base, you won’t be short for wonderful days out making memories with your other half.

About the location

KESWICK

Bassenthwaite 7 miles, Ullswater 16.6 miles; Cockermouth 13 miles.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.

A travel cot and highchair are not provided. Please bring your own. A travel cot will not fit in the master bedroom and will have to be put up in the living area.

The outside deck is fully enclosed and gated.
