    “Lovely clean accommodation, very well equipped with beautiful views.”

    A small suggested improvement for the elderly or those less mobile would be a grab handle and slip proof mat in the shower but the lack of it should not be seen as a negative comment.

The property

Tucked away on a peaceful holiday park, on the outskirts of Keswick, you will find The Fold.

A beautiful wooden lodge, surrounded by the breath-taking scenery of the Lake District National Park, this humble abode is suited to family and friends alike.

The property is within easy reach of plenty of quaint towns and bustling cities due to its convenient location near the A66 road.

Step inside the charming open-plan living space and discover a rustic kitchen complete with all the necessary appliances to help you cook up many delicious meals throughout your stay.

Joining the space is a fabulous dining area, where you can gather with loved ones over a delicious bottle of wine as you begin to map out all of your upcoming adventures exploring this magnificent part of the country.

Continue the festivities in the restful seating area as you keep nice and warm from the heat of the electric fire, or fling open the patio doors and enjoy drinks on the decking whilst watching the sun set on another marvellous day.

Back inside, three delightfully decorated bedrooms await you; a large double with an en-suite shower, a second double and a quaint and peaceful twin.

The bedrooms are then served by a family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower, as well as a basin and WC.

Make the most of your time in the Lake District with days spent hiking the spectacular fells, as you challenge yourself to climb the heights of Skiddaw, Helvellyn and Scafell Pike, or take a gentler approach with a wander or cycle through Whinlatter Forest Park.

The centre of Keswick sits right on your doorstep, boasting attraction such as the Derwent Pencil Museum, Puzzling Place and the Keswick Museum, whilst the captivating Threlkeld Quarry and Mining museum is just a pleasant stroll away.

Head out onto the Derwentwater on a day of adventure with the Keswick Adventure centre, whether canoeing or kayaking, or head across to the opulent Derwent Island House, now owned by the National Trust.

Indulge in a picnic at Friars Crag or devour a heart-warming meal at one of the many local cafés or restaurants, before heading to Ambleside and Bowness-on-Windermere to uncover Ambleside Roman Fort, Stock Ghyll Force and The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction.

Meet the exotic residents of the Lake District Wildlife Park, or enjoy a fun day out for the whole family at the Cumbrian manor of Mirehouse & Gardens.

KESWICK

Bassenthwaite 7 miles, Ullswater 16.6 miles; Cockermouth 13 miles.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.

The Fold is accessed by 3 steps. The lodge is then all on the same ground floor level.

A travel cot is provided for you. Please bring your own highchair.

The outside deck is fully enclosed but not gated.
