“Absolutely fantastic and immaculate cottage in a fabulous location.”

Felt just like a home with some lovely touches that even included a pair of binoculars. The beach was a 20min stroll (or 2 mins in the car, with parking) and had miles of flat sand at low tide. Great base for exploring other places on the islands too.

The property

Taigh Gorm is a stunning Hebridean cottage recently completed by The Wee House Company.

It was designed to reflect its environment both internally and externally and was a winner at the 2020 Build It Awards.

With extensive views across the machair to the hills and mountains of North Uist and only a 15 minute walk to a sandy beach, Taigh Gorm is ideal for those wanting to steep themselves in true Hebridean charm from a luxurious cottage. Ornithologists, archaeologists and botanists will revel in the wealth of interesting sites to see and for those who just want to relax and absorb the peace and quiet of the Hebrides, Taigh Gorm will not disappoint. Internally there has been a very careful attention to detail with high end furnishings and finishes.

Two shower rooms for the bedrooms also adds to the comfort and luxury of what is set to become a popular holiday cottage. North Uist has one of the Hebrides most beautiful beaches at Clachan Sands which is a short drive from Baleshare.

We highly recommend you visit this astonishingly white shell beach, which contrasts with the vivid turquoise sea. There are flights from Glasgow to Benbecula from where you can car hire or you can sail from Uig, Skye to Lochmaddy and the cottage is approximately 20 minute drive.
