“When we booked the description said there were three cottages and a big shared garden.”
In reality that garden had new cottages built on it so the "garden" was actually a what felt like a gravel filled sheep pen with a rough wooden fence looking at the side of the new cottages with no privacy at all. The cottage itself is tiny. The sofa faces 90 degrees to the television so you can't all watch a film comfortably together on a rainy day. The shower works for people under 5 feet tall. If you raise the head the water goes all over the floor and toilet. There is also no towel rail in the bathroom. In the main bedroom the mirror is above the headboard so unless you can apply makeup and do your hair from 6 feet away, make sure you take a mirror. There is no dressing table to put things on. All in all, we were very disappointed for the amount we paid. We have stayed in far nicer cottages. But the biggest drawback for us was finding out the garden was no longer there and we were restricted to a gravel filled pen with a rough fence.
We are sorry to read your feedback, as you are aware the properties have undertaken a refurbishment and part of that was each property gaining its own garden space which we felt was a positive upgrade given feedback from previous guests as each cottage now has its own BBQ, seating area and secure garden for pets and children.
We also gave the properties a facelift by cladding the outside to give them a modern feel. All properties received new boilers so have a stronger water pressure, decorated throughout and new mattresses and so far it has been received well. I understand the description was different to when you booked, and apologies we didn't update you sufficiently with the changes. We are
currently in the process of updating the descriptions online and will ensure customers are emailed the changes whilst we are actioning this.
We appreciate your comments about the bathroom and bedroom and will address immediately by adding a shower rail so the shower head can be raised higher, and adding a towel rail, and we will also look at putting a dressing table in the bedroom.
Thank you
