The property

The Hideaway is a beautifully-presented lodge, located close to the beach and cliffs at Eype, on the stunning Jurassic Coast in Dorset.

Enjoying a rural outlook over the Dorset countryside this two-bedroom holiday home is ideal for couples and small families, keen walkers or those wanting to enjoy a coastal break by the sea. The open-plan interior is bright and spacious with high vaulted ceilings and patio doors leading out to the wooden terrace that wraps around the lodge.

The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking meals, perhaps using some of the amazing local produce Dorset is known for.

When it comes to relaxing, the seating area has two sofas, a Smart TV, and electric coal-effect fire to give a cosy feel on cooler evenings. Located all on the ground-floor, the lodge has two bedrooms; a double with ensuite shower room, and a twin bedroom that looks out to the garden at the rear.

The family bathroom has a bath with shower over giving guests the option of a relaxing soak or a refreshing shower after a day at the beach. Outside, the lodge sits within its own grounds with a gravel driveway for parking, a rear garden that is mainly lawn and backing on to fields.

A large terrace wraps around the front and sides of the lodge making for an ideal space to sit and relax with a book or savouring mealtimes alfresco whilst enjoying the most tranquil of settings. Located only a short walk from Eypes Mouth beach and cliffs, The Hideaway is a great choice for beachgoers and water sports enthusiasts alike.

With the South West Coast Path passing close by, avid walkers can enjoy this scenic stretch of the world heritage Jurassic Coastline including Golden Cap, the highest point of the south coast.

The village of Eype, one of West Dorset’s prettiest villages, is full of thatched stone cottages dating back to the 18th and 19th century.

When you don’t feel like cooking, guests can enjoy a meal at The New Inn, which is located in the village, or a takeaway from Eype Eats, situated adjacent to Eype Mouth Chalet park. Nearby West Bay is a charming fishing village and harbour situated on one of the most dramatic stretches of the Jurassic Coast.

With delightful beaches and a wonderful selection of places to eat that surround the harbour, West Bay is a popular destination for holidaymakers and day trippers alike. Bridport offers visitors a great choice of fascinating attractions, many of which celebrate the heritage and art influences in the town.

Beer lovers will enjoy taking a tour of Palmer’s, England’s only thatched brewery, with all the ales made to a centuries old process.

In the heart of the town, Bucky Doo Square is home to the bustling Saturday market with stalls and producers visiting from around the local area to sell unique gifts, as well as delicious food and drink. Other popular day trips include Charmouth with its Heritage Coast centre where you will pick up tips on finding fossils on the shores nearby, or Abbotsbury with its acclaimed swannery and subtropical gardens. The Hideaway is ideally situated for those seeking a relaxing coastal break amidst the rolling Dorset countryside. About the location

EYPE

Bridport 1.8 miles; Lyme Regis 9.6 miles; Seaton 18.4 miles.

Eype sits on one of the most dramatic sections of the Jurassic Coastline, and famously features one of ITV’s series Broadchurch’s most iconic locations. We’ll leave you guessing as to which one until you visit. The beach at Eype is a steeply shelving pebble beach that is dog-friendly all year round and just a couple of miles from Bridport and West Bay, where many other Broadchurch locations can be viewed, as well enjoying local fish and chips on the harbour side and ice creams on the seafront. You'll also find a SPAR supermarket selling essentials, as well as a selection of pubs and restaurants in the village, including The New Inn, the Admiral's Restaurant and Bar, and Martin's Bar and Restaurant. Bridport offers all the high street amenities you will need along with a much-coveted antiques and collectables market. Golden Cap, the highest point in Dorset, sits on the South West Coast path and is just 4 miles from Eype, although it’s the highest point there are moderate routes to walk to the top, where spectacular far reaching views along the coast will be your reward.
