“Location on the site gives a magnificent view (weather permitting) out over Millbrook, the Tamar river and Plymouth in the distance, we were there in late December and most days woke to low cloud/mist.”

The lodge was well presented and comfortable, living up to it's listing. Although we appreciated the thought behind the voucher for the Canteen at Marker Heights it was not used as we were too busy exploring the rest of Cornwall. It was disappointing to find the base of the microwave covered in crumbs. The lodge was well presented and comfortable, living up to it's listing. Although we appreciated the thought behind the voucher for the Canteen at Marker Heights it was not used as we were too busy exploring the rest of Cornwall. It was disappointing to find the base of the microwave covered in crumbs. We were also surpised not to find a welcoming pack advising how things worked (never got to fathom out the thermoset programming but never went cold either), local health care, local eating establisments, places of interest, what to do at the end of the stay, etc. As mentioned by other reviewers parts are in need of some minor TLC, we found that the lever operated plugs in both vanity sinks were in need of some adjustment to get them to the open position, althought as this was probably the last booking of the year it is not surprising that a little bit of refurbisment is required. Taking Ollie for his morning walk, the trip all the way down to the beach and back would have been too much for his owner but if you start this trek, just below the Cliff Top cafe there is a small path off to the right which enables you to safely meander along the cliff face enabling views of the water and sand below before a short easy climb to the road which takes you back to the site. We had a good meal in the onsite pub/restaurant on the first night but then tended to eat out in Kingsand (The Halfway House Inn)/Cawsand (The Bay Bar & Restaurant), all 3 places were dog friendly which is essential to us. There are a lot of narrow twisty roads in the area so take it slowly as you might encounter a small herd of deer coming the other way as we did one morning. Would we book again - Yes.

Thank you so much for your useful feedback. Some refurbishment is certainly planned and an updated welcome pack. The thermostat is new and I must admit I haven’t mastered it myself… I’m so glad you enjoyed your trip. Many thanks again. Bw Mandy Property Owner

About the location

MILLBROOK

Whitsand Bay 1 mile; Plymouth 8 miles.

Set in a bowl of hills at the head of a tidal creek that leads to the Hamoaze, opposite the great naval city of Plymouth, Millbrook is located on the Rame Peninsula, "Cornwall's Forgotten Corner". Bounded by the Lynher and Tamar rivers, the Hamoaze and the sea, the area is deeply rural and designated as one of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a good range of shops and pubs, while close by are the pretty coastal villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, from which a ferry will take you to Plymouth. Along the southern edges of the peninsula are miles of beautiful walks with glorious views of Rame Head. Just a mile south of Millbrook lies Whitsand Bay with its miles of uncrowded sandy RNLI patrolled beach and dramatic cliffs. A superb base for discovering the wild side of Cornwall.

Note: Leisure facilities, bar, and restaurant available on-site, Use of the swimming pool is limited by time slot and the maximum capacity is for 6 people, Guests will have to contact Whitsand Bay Fort Holiday Park directly to book the appointment and arrange for payment.
